This Privacy Policy explains how SignatureLite handles information when you use the app.
Summary
- Documents and signatures are processed locally on your device
- Analytics are optional and off by default unless you enable them
- Ads and ad consent tools are currently used in the app
- Public copies saved to Downloads or Documents may remain after uninstall
- You can manage analytics and ad privacy choices from the app's Privacy Settings
1. Overview
SignatureLite lets you open PDF and image files, place signature or text overlays, save signed copies, export files, and share them with other apps. Document editing is performed locally on your device. We do not operate a cloud document storage service for this app.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
The app stores the following locally on your device:
- Signature images you choose to save for reuse, up to 10 saved signatures
- Signed documents created in the app
- App preferences such as language, theme, analytics choice, review and update state, and ad privacy settings
Storage Locations
- App-specific storage used by the app for saved signatures and saved documents
- Your device's Downloads folder, where the app attempts to save a copy of each newly signed document
- Your device's Documents/SignatureLite/ folder if you manually export a document from the saved documents screen
3. Documents and Signatures
Your documents, signature images, and text overlays are processed locally on your device. We do not upload document contents, signature images, or signed files to our own servers.
When you use Android's share sheet or export features, files may be provided to other apps or device locations you choose. Those actions are initiated by you.
4. Analytics
SignatureLite uses Firebase Analytics only if you opt in. Analytics are disabled by default until you enable them in the app.
If enabled, analytics may include information such as app opens, document signing events, device and app information, and other anonymous or pseudonymous usage metrics provided through Firebase Analytics. We do not use Firebase Analytics to collect document contents, signatures, file contents, or files you create.
You can disable analytics at any time from Privacy Settings on the main screen. Disabling analytics stops future collection through the app, but previously collected data may still be retained by Google under Firebase's policies.
5. Advertising and Consent
SignatureLite displays ads using Google AdMob and may use mediation partners, including Unity Ads, to serve ads. Banner and interstitial ads may be requested when ad consent and platform requirements allow.
These advertising services may process information such as device identifiers, approximate location derived from IP address, app and device information, ad interaction data, and consent choices, subject to their own policies and the choices you make in consent forms.
The app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request consent and provide privacy choices where required, including for users in the EEA, UK, and certain U.S. states. If a privacy options form is required for your region, you can access it from the app's Privacy Settings screen.
We do not use ads to access your document contents or saved signatures.
6. Google Play Services Features
The app may use Google Play services for in-app review prompts, in-app update checks and flexible update downloads, and advertising and consent flows. These services are provided by Google and are subject to Google's own privacy terms and policies.
7. Permissions and Access
The app uses minimal permissions and Android system features, including:
- Internet access for analytics, advertising, consent flows, in-app review, and in-app updates
- The system file picker to open documents you choose
- Android storage APIs to save files to app-specific storage, Downloads, and Documents/SignatureLite/
- Android FileProvider and sharing APIs when you choose to open or share saved documents
The app does not request camera, microphone, contacts, or precise location permissions.
8. Third-Party Services
Current third-party services used in the app include:
- Firebase Analytics by Google
- Google AdMob
- Unity Ads through AdMob mediation
- Google User Messaging Platform (UMP)
- Google Play in-app review and in-app updates
These services may process data according to their own terms, privacy notices, and retention practices.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete saved signatures and saved documents from within the app. Uninstalling the app removes app-specific local data, but it does not automatically remove copies already saved to public device locations such as Downloads or Documents/SignatureLite/.
If analytics are enabled and later disabled, future analytics collection stops, but Google may retain previously collected analytics data according to Firebase retention settings and Google's policies.
10. Children's Privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not require user accounts.
11. International and Regional Privacy Notices
For users in regions with consent or privacy-choice requirements, including the EEA, UK, and certain U.S. states, the app uses Google UMP to present consent and privacy options where required for advertising. Your rights and available choices may depend on your location and applicable law.
12. Security
Because documents and signatures are stored on your device, their security depends in part on your device security and the apps and locations you choose when sharing or exporting files. We recommend using device encryption, a secure lock screen, and current Android security updates.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the app, legal requirements, or third-party services. We will update the "Last Updated" date when changes are made.
