By downloading, installing, or using SignatureLite, you agree to these Terms.
Summary of Key Points
- SignatureLite is a simple local signing utility, not a full legal e-signature platform
- You are responsible for how you use documents and signatures created with the app
- The app may use ads, consent tools, analytics, in-app review, and in-app updates
- Exported or shared files may leave app-only storage based on your actions or save settings
- The app is provided without warranties to the fullest extent allowed by law
1. What the App Does
SignatureLite is an Android app that lets you open PDF and image files, place signature or text overlays, save signed copies, export files, and share files. The app is a simple document signing utility and not a full electronic-signature platform.
2. License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use SignatureLite on Android devices you control, subject to these Terms and applicable law.
You may not:
- Use the app for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where applicable law permits it
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the app without permission
- Use the app to create, sign, store, or distribute unlawful or harmful content
3. No Legal Advice; No Guarantee of Signature Validity
SignatureLite does not provide legal advice and does not guarantee that a signature created or applied with the app will be legally valid, enforceable, or accepted for any particular use.
You are solely responsible for determining whether the app is appropriate for your documents, jurisdiction, industry, and use case. This includes understanding whether additional safeguards such as identity verification, tamper evidence, audit trails, witness requirements, or notarization are required.
4. Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- The legality, accuracy, and appropriateness of documents you open, sign, export, or share
- Confirming you have authority to sign on your own behalf or on behalf of another person or organization
- Reviewing signed output before you share or rely on it
- Protecting your device and any documents stored on it
- Managing exported copies saved in public device locations such as Downloads or Documents/SignatureLite/
5. Local Storage, Export, and Sharing
The app stores saved signatures and saved documents locally on your device. When you save a signed document, the app may also save a copy to your device's Downloads folder. You may also export documents to Documents/SignatureLite/ and share them with other apps using Android sharing tools.
You are responsible for any consequences of exporting or sharing documents with other apps, services, people, or storage locations.
6. Ads, Analytics, Review, and Updates
The current version of the app may use:
- Optional Firebase Analytics if you enable it
- Google AdMob and mediation partners including Unity Ads for advertising
- Google UMP for ad consent and privacy choices
- Google Play in-app review prompts
- Google Play in-app updates
Your use of these Google or third-party services is also subject to their applicable terms and privacy policies. We do not control those third-party services.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
SignatureLite is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, or security.
We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every device or file, or suitable for documents requiring legally robust e-signature workflows.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, loss of business, loss of profits, document rejection, legal disputes, or damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app.
If liability cannot be fully excluded, our total liability will be limited to the amount you paid for the app, if any.
9. Intellectual Property
The app, excluding your own documents, signatures, and other user content, is owned by Shane Syring and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain rights to your own documents and signatures.
10. Privacy
Your use of SignatureLite is also governed by the Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how the app handles local files, analytics, advertising, consent, review prompts, and updates.
11. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate access to the app or future versions if required by law, platform rules, security concerns, or misuse of the app.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, excluding conflict-of-law principles. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be handled in the courts located in Ontario, Canada, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
